This weekend...

This weekend my baseball team didn't have any games so I decided to come home for the weekend! I first stopped by USC on friday to see some good old high school friends. After touring part of the campus, I made my way back to Charleston around 1130. I almost fell asleep at the wheel a few times but I made it home safely after all! Today I watched Furman play College of Charleston in baseball. It was a great ball game that was decided in the 6th inning when furman tied it up at 7 with a grand slam and never looked back. The final was 10-9. And now I'm writing my blog and dreading to have to drive back to Tigerville tomorrow.

Things To Keep In Mind When Scheduling Classes For A New Semester

College is a building block process. You start out with lower level classes and build your way up. When scheduling your new semester, be sure you don't over load yourself with a bunch of difficult classes but at the same time don't overload yourself with a bunch of easy classes. If you overload a bunch of difficult classes in one semester, you're setting yourself up for a semester full of stress. One could say "if i get these tough classes out of the way, I'll have it easy later on." This may be true but the likleyhood of doing well in this hard semester is slim. Now, the problem with setting up an easy semester is that you're setting yourself up to eventually take a bunch of hard semesters down the road. There's only so many easy courses you'll take. You need to make each semester a mix of a few hard classes with a few easy classes. This is the best way to have success in your college career.

Things That I Would Like to Do for My Career.

As a sports fan, and as an entrepreneur, I asked myself in high school, "What do I want to major in in college and what do I want to do with my degree. I had always leaned to business, but as my senior year came, I wanted to incorporate sports into business as well. So when I was accepted to North Greenville last year, I made the decision to major in Sports Management. I have done many sport related jobs and have played baseball and other sports since I was 7. My resume consists of: writing articles and scouting young baseball talent for Jr. Diamond Prospects, working football and basketball oporations for North Greenville University as well as scoreboard technician and PA announcer for baseball. I have helped coach recreational teams in baseball and have field preparation experience in baseball at North Greenville. I also have a sport information background in baseball. All of these titles I enjoy but my dream is to become a general manager of a baseball stadium!

How To Remember To Write Your Blogs For English!

As you can see, I have missed two weeks worth of blogs. There are ways to help you and myself remember to write your blogs for English class. The best way is to set an event reminder on your cell phone. Eveyone's cell phones are always on them so that is really the best way to remind yourself. Another way is to get yourself a planner. With all the school work that can pile up for the average college student, a lot of times one needs a planner to remind themselves of what needs to be done for that particular week. Another way to remind yourself is to write the word, BLOG, on your hand. But the best way of all to remember to do your blog is to do it the day it was assigned, that way you don't have to worry about reminding yourself for the rest of the week!

Most Exciting Vacation

My most exciting vacation ever was when I went on a cruise to the Virgin Islands last summer with my friend and his family. It was the first time I had ever been on a cruise. It was also the first time I had ever been outside the United States. I remember, it was a hot sunny summer day when we arrived at Cocoa Beach, Florida where we set sail for our seven day cruise. When we got on the ship, everyone was eating the free food that was available. We then set sail and made our first stop in Nassau, Bahamas. The water was beautiful but Nassau seemed like a dangerous place because there is no law enforcement. After that, we cruised to St. Thomas which is part of the Virgin Islands and is part of the US. St. Thomas has so many jewelery stores. My friends dad even bought a Rolex! In St. Thomas, I parasailed for the first time which was awesome. After St. Thomas, we cruised to St. Maarten. It had the clearest water I had ever seen. Me and my friend even went jet skiing which was my first time doing that! I had a blast.
After a day at St. Maarten, we turned around to make our way back to Cocoa Beach.

Spring Break

This week has been great! I was getting piled up with school work and spring break was just what I needed. I haven't been home since the beginning of the year and was really missing my family. I have caught up with old high school friends, watched some of my home area's high school baseball games. I did get a little slack on my school work the past week or so, hence the reason I missed my last two blogs from last week. I'm not excited to be going back to old Tigerville but there's only a month and a half left! I'm ready for summer! I'm excited about the beach, baseball, making money, meeting new people and getting away from school! I have a couple of days left of my spring break before I head back up to Tigerville so I'm going to make the best of the time I have left. I might take advantage of the warm Charleston weather and head to the beach!
