Everyone in life at some point or another will stumble. However, not everyone will pick themselves back up and face adversity straight in the eyes. This is where the line between failure and success is drawn.
One of my favorite quotes comes from Chuck Swindoll who says,
"Ten percent of life is what happens to us and ninety percent is how we respond.". For example: A man has been informed that he will be layed off of his job in two weeks. The question now is how will this man respond to what is happening to him. If he is a failure, he will most likely sulk in his own humility and feel sympathetic for him self. If he is a successful man, he will ask himself, "How quickly can I find a good job and where?".
We can not control the past. We can not feel sympathetic for ourselves. We must forgive our past mistakes. We must look for ways to improve as human beings. If we don't, we will set ourselves up for a lifetime of remorse and sorrow.
I can honestly say that I have made plenty of mistakes in my short life. But I have forgiven myself and I'm focused on God and the choices he wants me to make and I'm not looking back. If I did decide to not follow God and keep feeling sorry for myself, I would get no where in life.
I hope this has been somewhat motivational to anyone reading this. If you're struggling right now and looking for answers but can't find the right ones, please read Joshua 1:9.
Thanks for your time and I will have another blog up this week.
