Certain people have high expectations and dreams for themselves. Some are complacent with being mediocre. However, the ones with big dreams in front of them tend to get shot down by the mediocre crowd. Some block out the negative and some actually take it to heart. It is a shame that we have people in society that tell people they can't do something. If one works hard enough at something, I personally believe that one can succeed with encouragement from their peers instead of being shot down. Morale tends to decrease as the insults and discouragement increases. For those who take it to heart, don't. People who try to bring others down have issues with their self confidence. As goal oriented people, we need to keep our eyes on our goals and block out any distractions. You and your mindset is what controls your success. For example: Josh Hamilton was a minor league baseball player who was banned from baseball for multiple drug charges. For three years he was out of baseball and was heading down the wrong path. The media kept saying that he would never see the field again and at least ever have a job. He proved them wrong. Hamilton is now playing for the Cincinatti Reds and is two years clean. He uses his story as a witness to others and maintains to keep his goal in tact, to remain sober and play the game of baseball for the Lord, despite some negative talk that he still has to hear.
Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't do something. If you work hard, anything is possible through Christ.
